Fear of Falling
I was afraid of falling or tripping while pregnant. For example, I wash my feet in the bathroom sink a lot. lol gross I know. And when I do, I hold on for dear life. [I know, I should just wash them in the shower and stand.] I also saw this horrid movie where a pregnant girl got hit really hard and she landed on her stomach which made her bleed and have the baby early. lol what a HORRIBLE movie! I kinda tripped once at home, but I caught myself and just hit my ankle so that doesn't really count. I do have pretty decent balance for a pregnant person. Still wearing heels not to impress anyone, but just bcos I can and I feel weird when I don't. ;P Random fact is that since I was little, I would tip toe instead of walking around at home. And I didn't even know it for years, hehe.

Our first game
So my husband kisses a part of my stomach to Colette. Then we put our hand on that area. In a few seconds, Colette will move to where my husband kissed! We do that many times in a row, and she comes to the kiss!! [Ok, Colette is just moving to the a motion, but of course we like to think she's chasing our kisses. ;] The first time my husband did that, I said, "I bet she will follow the kiss because Coco definitely loves affection." and do I know my daughter [well all 3 of us are super affectionate]. :P :P

My friends
My friends are cute. 90% of them are, like, not ready for me to have this baby, lol. They don't know what to expect, do, or say, hahaha. I reassured my friends that when my water breaks with my first, I'll have hours before going to the hospital, etc. etc. A lot of them don't know when the baby will be here after my water breaks, when to visit, how to hold a newborn, etc. and that's ok!
I initially sent this to my 2 BFFS, but then other friends were stumped so I ended up sharing this with several friends and younger cousins:
I initially sent this to my 2 BFFS, but then other friends were stumped so I ended up sharing this with several friends and younger cousins:
-When my water breaks, I'll let you know. (some people don't know their water breaks and just get contractions)
-Then it'll be average of 4-8 hours until I go to hospital. (for the first pregnancy. 2nd+ usually go quicker.)
-I can push anywhere from "15mins- 15 hours". Lol. (baby is born!)
-We stay at hospital 2 days after giving birth. (4 days if I end up getting a c-section last minute, but dont worry about this)
From the time water breaks, baby will be out before 24 hours. That's what they do in US. (for ex, in London, they wait up to 48 hours)
So if my water breaks on "Saturday", you can just plan on visiting "Sunday" next day~ Something like that :)

This morning as I was getting dressed, I felt really big. I tried on an outfit and I just felt like my baby bump was jetting out! So I went to look in the mirror and started crying to my husband. Emotional, sensitive hormones alert!! :P He made me feel better and I knew I was being extra sensitive. Hey, we are entitled to those moments. ;]

What To Buy
There's definitely a lot to buy and organize when you first get pregnant. This is my personal list of suggestions since there's a lot of lists out there.
-Stroller
-Bassinet [We are using our 4moms Breeze Bassinet Sheet that came with the play yard]
-Air purifier [Optional. We have the Duux. Alen, Blueair, Germ Guardian, Crane, and Nux are good ones too]
-Nightlights
-Ipod dock for music
-Playmat [I think this is an important necessity for newborns and infants since they just lie around and do nothing in the beginning. :P We love the Korean Pororo Mat.]
-Saucer or Jumper
-Baby carrier [A must have moms say. We have the K'Tan which is awesome bcos it's soft and great for newborns and infants. We also have a Korean one. We also have Baby Bjorn. Moms do not like Baby Bjorn, but dads do. ]
-Baby Monitor [Internet usage is great.]
-Breast Pump [Free Medela from insurance]
-Infant car seat [Love Maxi Cosi, but Maxi Cosi Pria is for 4-70lbs which is awesome to just get one!]
-Car window shades
-Diapers [I did a survey and Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive Newborn was most popular, Seventh Generation, and Honest.]
-Baby wipes [Costco or Target sensitive, no scent were best and cheap.]
-Baby ointment cream [We have Egyptian Magic that is all natural and multi purpose, Aquaphor Healing Ointment, and Honest Healing Balm]
-Baby journal or notepad [You can use just paper and pen or an app on your cell. I got Baby's Eat, Sleep & Poop Journal, Log Book]
-Baby nail clipper and files [I like using the files when they're sleeping best.]
-Small toy
-Pacifier
-Burp cloths [Moms say to get like 15+. Preferably with waterproof liner on one side. These Aden+Anais burpy bibs are great.]
-Bottles [We have comotomo and mOmma. You can use anywhere from 2-10 bottles depending on nursing, etc. I'm planning on not introducing bottles for a while, but who knows! My previous family I nanny-ed for had 3 bottles, but only used 2 bottles. My one friend uses almost 8 bottles a day.]
-Baby bottles drying rack and accessories [We have Boon Clutch Dishwasher Basket, Boon Stem Grass, and Lawn Drying Rack.]
-Baby clothes, onesies, etc.
-SPF
-First Aid Kit
-Thermometer
-Nasal Aspirator [Should be able to get free one from hospital. If not, Zoli or Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator are reputable.]
-Squirt bottle [optional. useful for newborn sponge bath and washing butt after poo]
-Squirt bottle [optional. useful for newborn sponge bath and washing butt after poo]
-Frames and decor for nursery, Dresser, Lighted digital clock
-Small diaper pail [I don't like the big, special diaper pails. They don’t work and they smell. I like a really small garbage pail that has a tight lid so it only fits a couple days worth of diapers because it smells really bad quickly. You just need to get rid of them. Got ours at Target.]
-Baby hamper [Highly suggest because baby's clothes are smaller and will need to do load more often. We got this wicker Elephant bcos it was so cute, but a cheap one from Ikea will do!]
-Baby bathing essentials: Tub [Heard Puj is good. We have 4moms Infant tub.], wash cloths, baby bath robe [We have Baby Aspen's Hooded Lion, but any will do.]
-Baby shampoo, baby soap, baby lotion [Just Hatched, Seventh Generation, Aveeno Baby, Burt's Bee Baby -Bee, BabyGanics, Mustela Newborn, Honest, California Baby]
-Baby safe detergent [Dreft, BabyGanics, Seventh Generation, Honest, or any organic kind will work.]
-Baby safe cleaning products [Optional and suggest BabyGanics, Honest, Dreft, and Seventh Generation]
-Books and Toys
For 3 months+
-Crib [No, you will most likely not use a crib in the first few months.]
-2 Waterproof crib pad
-High chair [We have the Bloom Fresco, but also recommend the Boon Flair, Stokke Tripp Trapp, Phil and Teds Highpod]
-Bath toys and bath toys holder [We have Boon's Whale Pod, Boon's Scrubble Toys, and Boon's Bubbles.]
-Ipad Protector [Those really thick protectors so when baby knocks the Ipad and throws it, Ipad is not broken.]
Toddler:
-Baby Hip Seat Hugger Carrier for Toddler [This was wonderful when I was a nanny. A must have!]
-Magic Bullet if you want to make baby's meals. [Baeba Babycook and Infantino Fresh Squeezed Squeeze Station are good, but works as well as a Bullet.]
-Car interior protector [Prince Lionheart 2-Stage Car SeatSaver, Brica Deluxe Kick Mats, Summer Infant Kick Protect]
-Car backseat organizer [Brica i-Hide Seat Organizer with Tablet Viewer, Munchkin Backseat Organizer]
-Potty Seat
For Mom:
-Nursing bras and or tank tops [If nursing. I got You Lingerie for Nursing Bras only because I like the look and they are comfortable. Target, Boob, and Milk nursing wear are some that I like.]
-Nipple cream [If nursing. Mother love is the one I have. Earth mama angel baby and Lansinoh are great too.]
-Belly Bandit [Recommend. Everyone who has tried it loves it and saids it helps. Not cheap, but think it’s worth it!]
-Bio Oil, Mama Mio, Coconut Butter, or just lotion for stretch marks [Yes, applying oil or lotion helps, but I think stretch marks are more hereditary.]
-My favorite books: Pamela Druckerman’s Bébé Day By Day and Bringing Up Bébé
For Hospital [All optional]:
-Cheap shower flip flops for you and your partner at the hospital. [I'm just going to get cheap ones and throw them away, but you can bring any flip flops you own!]
-Robe [If you don't have one]
-Non skid socks [If you want thicker ones than the ones the hospital should provide.]
-Small toiletries [Travel size or get plastic containers]
-Face mist
-Facial wipes [Comes in handy]
-Oil or sprays for room [for comfort purposes]
-Battery candles [For comfort. Can't bring actual candles]
